The Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is live for our 46th anniversary of this landmark jazz festival! The event will be held from July 17th to the 19th  2026.

This is a free event, but you will have many opportunities to support the festival through cash donations and purchasing drinks from the beer and wine garden, or by purchasing a VIP Experience at Cathedral Park Jazz Festival VIP.

There will be food carts and booths so you won't need to bring any nourishment with you. Bring your own low chair or a blanket. Dogs are discouraged unless they are service animals. No outside alcohol is allowed. Alcohol consumption is allowed for those 21 and over in the beer and wine garden only. We do not allow any umbrellas or tents on the festival grounds since they will block the view of others. Please remember to protect yourself with sunscreen! Get there early to get a good parking spot (street parking only) - or better yet, take public transit to the park!

Come celebrate the melting pot of styles that make jazz and jazz-adjacent music come alive in Portland at the 2026 Cathedral Park Jazz Festival; a free, all-ages festival celebrating jazz and black diasporic music in the historic St, John’s neighborhood in North Portland!

At its roots, jazz is comes from a melting pot of cultures, songs, and sounds– New Orleans birthed the musical gumbo that we’ve all enjoyed for over a century, and the innovative marriage of styles, idioms, and inspirations led to the popularity and development of many other styles we know and appreciate today.

Come to CPJF and celebrate the lineage of jazz by cheering its many champions on! Jazz purists will adore Domo Branch; celebrating over a century of development in swinging jazz, paying homage to the late greats. Enjoy the rustic stylings of Dadweed, an exciting Bluegrass trio borrowing from many of the oldest influences within jazz. Step into the contemporary with jazz fusion groups like Greaterkind (featuring the ever-talented Hailey Niswanger on saxophone), blending jazz improvisation with modern production and sound design elements. Step into familiar territory with an amazing tribute to Sade; one of the fearless flyers of a generation that let jazz back into the pop world long after the days of Swing and other popular jazz of yesteryear.

CPJF celebrates the past, present, and future of jazz music– it is ever-evolving, so come celebrate with us at CPJF ‘26!
